چکیده

Van der Waals epitaxy on the surface of two-dimensional (2D) layered crystals has gained significant research interest for assembly well-ordered nanostructures and fabrication vertical heterostructures based 2D crystals. Although van epitaxial hexagonal phase transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) been relatively well characterized, a comparable study distorted octahedral (1T? or Td) TMDCs is largely lacking. Here, we investigate behavior one-dimensional (1D) AgCN microwires various TMDC crystals, namely 1T?-MoTe2, Td-WTe2, 1T?-ReS2. The unidirectional alignment chains observed these reflecting symmetry underlying TMDCs. Polarized Raman spectroscopy transmission electron microscopy directly confirm that display remarkable along chain directions can be attributed to favorable adsorption configurations 1D substrate distortion, which supported by our theoretical calculations observation similar from different cyanide chains. aligned harnessed as facile markers identify polymorphs crystal orientations

Aging of Transition Metal Dichalcogenide Monolayers.

Two-dimensional sheets of transition metal dichalcogenides are an emerging class of atomically thin semiconductors that are considered to be "air-stable", similar to graphene. Here we report that, contrary to current understanding, chemical vapor deposited transition metal dichalcogenide monolayers exhibit poor long-term stability in air. After room-temperature exposure to the environment for s...

Two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) nanosheets.

This special issue is about two-dimensional transitionmetal dichalcogenides (2DTMDs), a family of materials consisting of over 40 compounds with the generalized formula of MX2, where M is a transition metal typically from groups 4–7, and X is a chalcogen such as S, Se or Te. Bulk TMDs have been widely studied over several decades because it is possible to formulate compounds with disparate elec...

Intrinsic disorder in graphene on transition metal dichalcogenide heterostructures.

Semiconducting transition metal dichalchogenides (TMDs) are a family of van der Waals bonded materials that have recently received interest as alternative substrates to hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) for graphene, as well as for components in novel graphene-based device heterostructures. We elucidate the local structural and electronic properties of graphene on TMD heterostructures through scann...

Band Alignment in MoS2/WS2 Transition Metal Dichalcogenide Heterostructures Probed by Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and Spectroscopy.

Using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and scanning tunneling spectroscopy (STS), we examine the electronic structure of transition metal dichalcogenide heterostructures (TMDCHs) composed of monolayers of MoS2 and WS2. STS data are obtained for heterostructures of varying stacking configuration as well as the individual monolayers. Analysis of the tunneling spectra includes the influence of ...
